Syllabus:
We follow a planned system of training based
on the British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association
(BHPA) standard operating procedures and pilot proficiency
systems modified to suit to our geography and weather.
Instruction:
We maintain a 3:1 student instructor
ratio to ensure quality instruction. We put you
through the paces keeping your level of fitness, comfort
and progress in mind. Radio contact as you launch, fly and
land accompany you throughout all of your training flights.
Theory and audio visual training sessions take place at
our base Native Place. Our emphasis is on getting people
to enjoy the sport and fly safely.
Equipment: We provide you with the paraglider,
harness, helmet and radio - keeping your weight range and
course level in mind, a set of equipment are reserved
for your exclusive use during training. No special
clothing is required although we stress that you wear sturdy
long pants, long sleeve shirts and comfortable running shoes
that provide some ankle support.

SPORT AS A HOBBY
Elementary
Pilot Course
If you are sure you want to take up the sport as a
hobby we recommend you start with our 5 day Elementary
Pilot Course, an intensive course that gives you at
least 8 to 10 solo flights and many hours of ground
handling thereby polishing the basic skills you require
to become a safe competent pilot. This course can
be completed over two weekends.
|
|
Club
Pilot Course
You can then progress to a 5 day Club Pilot Course
that takes you all the way to flying on your own for
extended periods of time without the direct supervision
of an instructor. At about this time you can begin
thinking about buying your own wing, becoming a hobby
pilot and escaping to the solitude and freedom of
cool air above and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow
pilots.

JOYRIDE
If you want to experience free flight
without having to learn we have tandem flights or
joyrides that you do with a competent tandem pilot,
but we still think the best way to experience this
magical event is on your own
|
|
| |
|
|
 |
|
Please note: We are conservative
in our training programs and teaching on bunny slopes,
tandem flights or High mountain sites is done only
in Ideal conditions. Safety is our main concern and
we are reliant on good weather conditions for safe
progression of individuals in their training. Our
area is fortunate enough to have the best all year
round climate in the country with light to moderate
winds most of the year round, so fly able days are
plentiful.
