India is fast gaining popularity as the perfect destination for a paragliding pilot. Her vast and diverse geographic features offer a variety of sites and flying conditions, almost anything a paraglider could wish for. High mountain flying, thermic XC conditions, serene beach flying and even desert flying. Accommodation, food, and transportation being cheap, pilots can look forward to spend a few months here to improve their flying.
Paragliding in the Western Ghats
This range runs North South along the west-coast of the Indian peninsular through the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka and Kerala. The major part of this range is housed in the state of Maharashtra where it is locally known as the Sahayadri Range.
