The desire to see beyond is
an unmistakable human calling. The skies may have no
boundaries, but we still try to push our borders looking
for new experience & adventure. Flying new sites
and tasting new conditions keep the freshness and the
excitement alive and results in amazing experiences.
Given below are sketches of some of Nirvanas memorable
paragliding holidays.

Parapente
on the Atlantic Coast
Dune
de Pyla - France (7th to 11th
June)
The Dune is a Mecca for paragliding
pilots from across the world. Which of us have
not seen the most amazing fun flying videos
of graceful ridge dancing, daring low flying
and deadly death spirals done here. Paraglider
pilots dream about flying here at least once
in their lives. With Francois and Gwens
wedding taking place further up the coast no
way were we going to miss this fantastic opportunity.
The Great Dune of Pyla is the
highest dune in Europe. 7km long, 107 meters
high it rises nearly 1000' above the sea, offering
extremely reliable conditions and an excellent
learning environment, for all standards of pilot,
The ocean providing laminar smooth air, and
the Dune, a soft forgiving hill to soak up any
mistakes!
The flying here is everything
we imagined and more and Sanjay Astrid and Sunith
Rao all had an idyllic time at this amazing
place.

Free
flying in the South of France
Bir Moustiers
Ste Marie France (24th to 28th
June)
Good Karma brought us to magical Moustiers St
Marie, a beautiful small village nestled between
calciferous cliffs in the Haute Alps region
of the South of France. We landed up here because
it is Philippe Libre’s playground. A fantastic
place for paragliding, rock climbing and all
kinds of adventure sport. We heard of this place
from Philippe and François who have been coming
to Nirvana Adventures and Native Place for the
past few years but we never imagined it would
be this way.
It turned out to be a dark horse.
It simply knocked us down with its true to style
architecture, poetic beauty and wonderful people.
The flying here is simply fantastic. Thermodynamic
conditions and takeoffs at different altitudes
make it pretty consistent too. We had some amazing
flights over the spectacular countryside of
legendary Provence, did some radical rock climbing
and retreated each night to Philippe and Karen’s
captivating home, a medieval farmhouse in a
clearing among the mountains.
An unmatched experience.

Himalayan
flying holiday
Bir Billing,
Himachal Pradesh, India
October 2007
A bunch of Nirvana Pilots traveled up to Bir
Billing , looking forward to the awesome experience
of flying in the Himalayas.
The conditions here differ starkly
from our home sites at Kamshet but pretty soon
we were buzzing high up in the Himalayan skies
along with the awe inspiring Himalayan Griffon
vultures, other birds of prey and paragliders
from all over the world.
On the day we arrived we looked
up at the flying site and the lofty peaks of
the Dhauladar range in awe. By the end of the
trip we bid a fond farewell to what we now considered
to be ‘friendly mountains’

Kiting on the coast
Malvan, Maharashtra, India - March 2007
A family holiday turned out to be a fun intense Kiting on the Beach extravaganza for the Rao family. Sanjay Astrid & Sunith’s holiday away from it all turned out to be an exploration of sorts and is now slated to become a yearly Nirvana Kiting Trip.

Free Flying in God's Own Country
Vagamon, Kerala, India - April 2006
Gods own country, a small hill station with rolling hills, and a virgin site with a ten km long ridge, a grassy take off at 1100 meters and landing, a two acre field at 100 meters seemed to have a lot of promise. This trip was a Nirvana family trip. Gokul, Vidya & Veda, Chintu & Shwetambara, Pendurkar, Piku, Hiren Sachin, Dilip and Pendu, met up with Hari as well as Meidi & Caroline who had visited us at Kamshet the previous Christmas.
The entire team was very excited about flying this incredible site and exploring its flying possibilities. This was the first fly at Vagamon open to all pilots. Veda the youngest member of the Nirvana team was their mascot. It was Chintu’s first free flying experience away from Kamshet on his new Sport 3.
The gang had a super time as usual and Gokul being a knowing the local lingo organized for a variety of Kerala delicacies for the group to sample each evening. Morning flights were the norm as the mist hung around takeoff in the evenings. On the last day everyone landed at the bottom where cultural evening was organized.
