HOLIDAY CAMP HOSTED FOR ACCENT INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

Nirvana Adventures paragliding student, Miranda Mortimer, an expat living in mumbai, happend to be teaching at the Accent International School. A regular at Native Place and Nirvana Adventures she enjoyed the flying and the time out in nature at Native Place. One evening she expressed the wish to bring her school kids to Native Place.

It gave us great joy to see 16 kids around the age of 10 run, shack up in tents, climb trees, build a bonfire, intreact with local childern in the same age group, splash about in the lake, make herbal teas, partake in low ropes course and team building activity, explore the hillsides, and have a meaningful time in nature.

So here’s what 3 days and two nights were packed with – Valley crossing, low ropes course, team building activity, short treks, nature trails, scavenger hunts, bird watching, tree spotting, village visit, sunset watches, stargazing stories, vegetables harvesting, trees planting, barbeque, bonfire, marshmallow toasting, and more.

Keeping the students’ age and stamina levels in mind and the fact that many of them had no prior outdoors experience, we planned out a schedule with a mix of hands-on big-body activities along with quieter, reflection activities, interspersed with time out for the kids and curriculum related activities.

"Dear Sanjay & Astrid, thank you is not enough to express our gratitude to you. Thank you for creating this magical oasis of Native Place that gave our kids a chance to experience 3 wonderful days of nature and the outdoors. Camping out, a bonfire, trek and nature activities were excellent. We hold on to the numerous memories and experiences."- Miranda Mortimer, Teacher (Accent International School) Mumbai
